Originating in southern China, ginger is utilized globally as a spice. The most commonly used part of the flowering plant is its rhizome, which is located in the root. The studies have shown that ginger may be effective if women take between 1 and 1.5 grams daily. In some cases, medical patients in the process of chemotherapy or in post-surgery are given ginger in the hopes to help prevent vomiting. Other potentials benefits of ginger include; improving high blood sugar, general soreness, stomach pain, arthritis, indigestion, and high cholesterol.
